Scholastic Chess Manager
2006-2007 School Year

Want a fun, part-time position with excellent compensation? Be one of our team of Championship Chess Coaches and teach chess in extended-day school programs.

Usual hours are Monday-Friday, beginning about 2:15 or 2:45, for 1 to 2 hours. Most positions are in elementary schools.

Requirements:

• You must be dependable, enjoy working with children and have your own transportation. All coaches must have a background check.
• A high level of chess skill is not required, but training and the use of Championship Chess materials is required.
• We encourage coaches to have cell phones for easy access in case of schedule changes or emergencies.
• We furnish all materials. You add the enthusiasm! We encourage public service in chess to the communities where we teach.
• Our top coaches increase their incomes by adding small group, private lessons and chess camps throughout the year. This could be a career opportunity for a person with the right mix of chess and teaching skills.
